Wednesday Workout Cosplay: Daenerys Targaryen, Khaleesi!

I don't know if you know this, but there is little show on HBO called Game of Thrones (wink-wink). On it there are many a bad-a in the forms of: knights, ice zombies, brotherhoods, imps, princes, and queens! Political intrigue, betrayal, hope, hopes-dashed, swords, and AMAZING costumes! Also--and most importantly--there are DRAGONS (OK...maybe this is debatable in terms of "importance"...but I mean: DRAGONS! We all love the s**t out of dragons, right?!).

And since one of my SDCC cosplays will be based on the MOTHER OF DRAGONS (caps means excited) and that's next week, here's a Daenerys (Khaleesi Mode) workout cosplay:

1). Feel the Burn Tank- How do I NOT want that shirt! It has a M-effin' Dragon on it! Feel the burn!
2). Backpack- so let's say you're backpacking through the desert a la Khaleesi (or mountains, or navigating the airport) this nice backpack has plenty of room, or, if you wanted to down size, you could do that too, since it can be separated into two packs!
3). Trail Shoes- water proof, sand proof; slip proof; and--possible--Dothraki-horse-manure proof, these shoes are sure to bring your backpacking/nomadic exercise game to a whole new level!
4). Khaleesi Bow- I'd wear this super cute bow by Spiffing Jewelry not just to work, but any where! Bring out my inner Khaleesi while I work out!
5). Compression Shorts- I love compression wear! Especially under loose shorts! They are the most comfortable for long walks, runs, or hikes!

Also, I wanted to share with you Mia's from xoMia Daenerys cosplay picture taken by Aperture Ashley! She is one of my favorite cosplayers, and I love that she went for the Horse Heart Eating Dany (not often done)! It's such a great costume, and you can read Mia's process here:

I seriously LOVE Daenerys! I also like Tyrion, Oberon and others, but she's my favorite because, I love how her character's evolves from this push-over/girl who just does what she's told, to this straight up boss-lady queen! This week's playlist is workout oriented, but I ordered the track in a sort of "story arc"--in my mind at least (if you want me to explain, just hit me up on twitter, Facebook or in the comments, and I'll let you know my "reasoning").

This year at SDCC will be my first cosplay. I do cosplays to workout. One of which I will show a variation of next week (who is also a character I am cosplaying this year). I am SOOO excited (and nervous) about it!

Here's a hint at my SDCC Dany Cosplay:

Do you watch Game of Thrones? Who's your favorite character? Which house do you think you'd belong to?

Also, are you going to SDCC?!?! If so, hope to see you there!!

  3. Just started watching Game of Thrones (just finished S1 Episode 4), and Khaleesi already has my attention apart from the dierwolves. I like the color choices in the outfit; it looks like a good hiking outfit, especially in the middle of a hot summer.

  5. I'm still saving Game of Thrones for when I am ready to begin that addiction. I know I will probably be hooked, hah! I also want to read the books first, but with my very slow reading lately, I don't think I will. Have you read any of them?

I love Mia's cosplay! The character looks very interesting, what with the bloody heart eating and all. :)

    1. I've read the first one, and will start again at book three.
Book two was a chore to try to read. I've been told starting again at book 3 is worth my while.
But I'm in the Dresden Files; Grossman's the Magicians; and Gaiman's American Gods right now...but I did minimize my list, and will try to do so again ;)

  6. Aaaaah! I love it! Daenerys is definitely one of my favorite characters, next to Tyrion. I think I'd be in house Stark, but every quiz I've taken puts me in Tyrell. I think I'm okay with that. :) I can't wait to see your cosplay! I'm sure you'll do great! :D

I was trying to bring in a little bit of the Dragon (fire) element with the kicks!

  10. Are you interested in attaining enlightenment and personal growth?

Try doing the following two yoga exercises daily:

    Sodarshan Kriya Yoga

    Sat Nam Kriya Yoga

Are you interested in preventing and curing cancer, Alzheimer's, high blood pressure, and many other common diseases using an inexpensive, natural indian spice called turmeric?

Take two teaspoons full of turmeric powder mixed with a cup of warm soy milk (or any kind of non-dairy milk that you'd like). Also eat 2 or 3 black peppercorns along with it, as the pepper helps your body absorb the turmeric better. You also need fat for the turmeric to be absorbed properly, which is why drinking turmeric mixed in water won't work. You have to drink it with milk or some fatty based liquid. Do this twice a day and you will start to feel amazing within a couple of weeks.

Lastly, please read the following two ancient indian scriptures which talk about the divine love of God:

    Ananda Vrindavan Campu PDF

    Govinda Lilamrta PDF
